Morning! Or, ya know, happy whenever you’re viewing this 🙂
I hope you’re having a good week, I’m doing well here in my home. We haven’t received any snow here in NC, which is nice because I do hate driving it in (I’m originally from a very snowy state, so I know about the snow).
In between writing patterns and getting things ready for the holidays (I’ve been baking up a storm), I’m thinking about new things to do in the new year. I think I’ll get a Patreon started, where for $1 a month you’ll get a pdf copy of each of my blog patterns, which will all be going up to $1 (this includes old patterns, so if you want to pick up any of those patterns, you should do it now).
This week’s pattern might be one you’ve seen on my Instagram account, which I update all the time and you should follow if you’re not already 😉 I designed this a few weeks ago but because I’ve had so many patterns going at once, it got added to the queue and just came up. As I said there, I’m a touch nervous about this release because it’s my first pair of fingerless gloves and, well I get nervous easily – me and tiny dogs have that in common. So, I hope this pattern goes over well and everyone likes it. Perhaps you’ll see some more sheep before the winter ends 😀

I hope you like this design!

You can purchase an ad-free downloadable pdf of this pattern in my Ravelry shop for $2.

Notes

  • This pattern is worked in the round, with a slip st into the first st of the row.
  • This pattern is worked from the bottom up in 2 sections: the gloves and the details. The right and the left hands of the gloves are different (due to the thumb holes) but the graphing and details are the same.
  • The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch. The ch-2 at the beginning of the wrist section does count as a st.
  • Following the first row, sc into the back loop only (except for the wrist section). At the end of the row, slip st into both loops of your 1st st, this will help to keep your seam straight.
  • You’re going to need to know how to create a slipknot on your hook for this pattern.
  • Every stitch in the graphing portion of this pattern is a single crochet. The directions will only tell you what color (ie: Color A, Color B, etc…) and the number in the parentheses tells you how many scs to make.
  • In the example, the inactive yarn is carried behind the active. If this is confusing, you might want to check out the helpful Moogly video on tapestry.
  • Color A is dark green, color B is tan, color C is off-white, color D is black, color E is white, and color F is red. Caron One Pound was was used for all the colors.

Fasten off, weave in all your ends

    – Details –
    Top
Following row 19, with color F, slip st into the back loop only all the way around. Don’t pull these stitches too hard or else it will make your opening extra small – 26 (30) slip sts
Fasten off, weave in your ends.

    Thumb
Around the thumb opening slip st into the BLO of the scs from row 15 and into the back bump of the chs from row 16 -12 (12) slip sts
This might make your thumb opening smaller, be very careful about how tight your slip sts are. Or leave this section off completely if you find it too tight.
Fasten off, weave in your ends.

    Wrist
Flip your whole fingerless glove upside down and work along the other side of row 1. Create a slipknot on your hook and hdc into the first st to the left of your seam and hdc into the next 23 (27) sts, slip st into the first st – 24 (28) hdc
Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as hdc) fphdc around the next st, *bphdc around the next st, fphdc around the next st,* repeat from * to * 10 (12) more times, slip st into the first st – 24 (28) hdc
Fasten off, weave in your ends.

Tada! There’s the new pattern and sure hope you like it <3 <3
